Incoming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has expressed her support for Congressional voting rights for D.C., and it is widely expected that she will push for passage of House Resolution 5388, the D.C. Fair and Equal House Voting Rights Act.

The Use of the Atomic Bomb on Japan: Great or Grave

Take a look into our history and judge for yourself if President Harry S. Truman's decision to use the atomic bomb was the best decision out of all the alternatives he had.

Jobs Continue to Migrate

Tim? Question? The Islanders have a strategy to boost? Their economy? So importing jobs is a good thing? So, then what is exporting jobs?

Franklin Roosevelt

The political system of the United States is based on democratic principles. America has a government ‘of the people, by the people and for the people’ (A. Lincoln). This means that the American people have a choice in making the laws and the right to decide who will be the leader of their nation.

2007 Trends In Politics And A Look Back At 2004-2005

Every era has its political issues and every election cycle has its main points of contention. So often we observe that the mass media hysteria and the tactics of the various political parties and their political action committee supporters shape the public perception and politics of the day. Indeed in the end all politics is local and personal. We witnessed divide and conquer strategies and Machiavellian primate politics

2007 Debate on Definition of Modern Liberals

Recently I have gone on record stating that Modern Liberalism is a disease spreading across America and asked the simple question; Can it Be Stopped? Indeed, modern liberalism today is not that of the definition of our Founding Fathers and their sense of what liberalism was. Further the dictionary definition is nothing similar to the direction that this modern liberal mindset is taking our nation.

THE DIXIE CHICKS: Reluctant Warriors in the Battle for America's Soul.

The Dixie Chicks have been ridiculed, maligned, slandered, threatened, boycotted and demonized all because they made a simple comment criticizing President Bush's decision to go to war. But, they won't back down. Good for them!

Can You Always Negotiate A Settlement?

I keep hearing that we should negotiate rather than use force or sanctions. If that is so then why do we spend so much money incarcerating people that have committed a petty crime. What good did the three strikes and you are out law do?

Rare Coins and Politics

A Scandalous Coin Politics and rare coins might not seem to go together, but they are linked throughout the history of the United States. From the first coins of the 1650s to the change you carry in your pocket today, political influence has been a significant part of United States coinage...

Tab Cards Took A Bum Rap In Florida Election And Still Are The Best Method For Voting

For many years, small businesses and major corporations, during some of the best economic times, used tab card systems to run their businesses. However, all data was considered raw data until verified. Tab card voting systems do not have a verfication cycle. All we need to do today is use the same punch card voting systems that were used for many years and add a verification cycle. Electronic voting machines can not be trusted. A punched hole card system can be trusted much more if the process is verified.

Positive Effects of Tax Cuts: Why Is The Left In Serious Denial?

Major Tax Cuts In The U.S., Other Nations, and Among the Fifty States, Have Produced The Same Results, Hundreds of Times. GDP, Jobs, Per Capita Income and Revenues To Government, Soar. If Spending Is Kept Anywhere Near Inflation, Deficits Go Down, Surpluses Go Up. Why Are Leftists Still In Denial Of So Much Empirical Evidence?

A Congressman's Strained Attempt at Logic

Ellison's election, and announcement that he will use the Quran at his swearing in ceremony, should have been a showcase for the American ideal that all men are created equal and have an equal chance in this country. Instead, people like Virgil Goode have seized it to personify their own fears an insecurities. What comes out is not the embracing of the high and difficult ideals of our Republic, but a warped and frustrated discharge served to you with a little logic and an American flag.

The Third Alternative

The Third Alternative is my way I guess of saying let us ditch the over-zealousness and over-the-edge issues of each party, the outrageous fringe. We need not fight over a center ground with the fringe inciting chaos and controversy in the development of friendships, partnering and responsibility of working for the people and maintaining the efficient flows of our civilization. That is their job and there can be no excuses of our leadership in underperformance of that goal in maintaining our Nation's strength.

The recent visit of the Indian Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh to Japan has been a big success in terms of India’s economic and strategic ties.
