On Sept. 19th a military coup overthrew the Thai government, while the Former PM Thaksin Shinawatra landed in New York City to give a speech at a UN assembly. The coup was fast to act, and soon the nations capital was filled with Tanks and military soldiers. This article looks at the world view on this coup as well as highlighting the situation in Thailand.

And We're The Barbarians?

To listen to the nonsensical debate about how we should treat terrorists taken from the field of battle going on between the far and not so far political left one might wonder who the real barbarians are.

Export Shipments of LA Ports Half Full?

For those who study the train traffic in the United States we see interesting and somewhat unfortunate truths about our country's ability to compete in the world. Take for instance the trains, which go from Albuquerque to Los Angeles or from El Paso to Los Angeles and notice that the flat cars tend to have fewer cargo containers on them as they go west.

Does the Army Have Enough Soldiers?

Recently released statistics suggest that the Army is having no trouble meeting its recruiting goals, despite the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Even more important, more men and women are choosing to stay in the Army, even after multiple tours in dangerous combat zones.

Globalization

At the beginning of this century the world society has faced with various crisis phenomena and their consequences of different character: international, systematical, social and economic, political, ecological etc. Such processes also take place in social and cultural, religious and inter confessional relations, in difficult interaction of moral standards and politics. World society is facing a problem of integral comprehension of the society development in new conditions, when human interests become dominant in international life, although it is still overwhelmed with contradictions regarding class, national and ethnical, group levels. The paradox of the situations lies in the fact that globalization of social processes and of human interests are closely connected with civilization crisis.

Is Bush Evil Or Just A Miserable Failure As A Leader?

The Non-Political Make the Best Politicians

Like all career options, a career in politics, too, has its own particular requirements. Cunningness, meanness, trickery and treachery are some of the unholy elements that the holiness of a political god is generally supposed to be composed of. Most of our youngsters find themselves quite incapable of inculcating these, for, obviously, it would take a lifetime of unlearning whatever little they absentmindedly picked up in their moral science classes.

Illegal Immigrants or Undocumented Workers?

This article is not about whether or not illegal immigration is proper or about what should be done about illegal immigrants. This post is about the terms 'illegal immigrant' and 'undocumented worker'.

All That Is Necessary

Each one of our votes is important and will make a difference. It is our vote that portrays the complete picture of the mind and will of the people. Let's get out and vote and make our will known. Let's have a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Shock And Confuse

Mark Foley is a name on the lips of many these days; mine included. It's amazing actually. Conservative, Republicans, Liberals and Democrats are all appalled. This is the sort of unity that does not happen all that often on Capitol Hill and from sea to shining sea across the fruited plain. The problem is that while all sides are outraged and united in their outrage, they are outraged for different reasons.

Is Government Too Big, Bossy, Costly, Nosy and Powerful?

Some civil rights groups and government watch dog groups claim that the United States government is getting to be too big and costly. Many liken it to a giant blob of bureaucracy and that is truly unfortunate. Many people do not like the idea of their government being too nosy or snooping around in their personal affairs.

North Korea – Yes, You Have Our Attention

North Korea's big bang shakes the world.

Kim Jong Il Causes Regime Change in America

Here is the inside story from Hollywood to Pyongyang.

What North Korea Really Wants

Conventional geopolitical thinking has long assumed that North Korea has pursued an unrelenting campaign of provocations, its illicit nuclear program, and even a nuclear weapons test with the objective of assuring the survival of its current regime. Regime survival has little to do with North Korea's recent provocative behavior. North Korea's aims are far more ambitious. As a result, North Korea is not likely to alter its present course and security guarantees or economic inducements will likely prove ineffective.
