The Bush War Cabinet has been on a campaign to convince Americans that all they have done for 5 years is to protect the people against terrorism. Now they are invoking the memory of 9/11 to justify actions that are nothing short of detriminetal to fundamental human and constitutional rights.

Politics Needs Enthusiasm, Not Power
We live in a day and age where doing what is right is no longer right. Politicians are now driven by popularity rather than compassion. It has led to a decline in political enthusiasm. Young people have no desire to vote, better yet pay attention to politics in the news. We must bring excitement back into the political arena. We must draw back the claws and move forward. The only way to do this is have love for politics. We must unite in order to have this devotion in politics again.

Time for NATO to Step Up to the Plate
The Supreme Allied Leader of NATO in Europe recently called upon member countries to contribute more troops to the fight in Afghanistan. Since 9/11, though, NATO countries other than the U.S. have decreased defense expenditures, putting the war on terror at risk.

And We're The Barbarians?
To listen to the nonsensical debate about how we should treat terrorists taken from the field of battle going on between the far and not so far political left one might wonder who the real barbarians are.

Great Britain Welcomes asylums
Every year hundreds of thousands of people come to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland seeking a refuge or asylum having sincere hopes that in the new country they will find a better and more prosperous life with a more reliable social system, more stable economy, and nice and friendly immigration system with benefits to newcomers as Britain has been welcoming new immigrants and asylums for years. Great Britain is among well-developed countries that host immigrant from all over the world, but the immigration policy has been changing over the years and it seems that it got stricter as it turned out that many people just use the benefits the government provides and ignore the law and requirements.

Thoughts on Terrorists as Enemy Combatants and Criminals
Since 9/11 the United States and the international community has struggled to adopt any uniform policies toward those who commit acts of terrorism. Sometimes terrorist are caught and tried in a court of law. Other times they are captured and indeterminately detained by military forces. The inability of the U.S. and U.N. to obtain a consensus on policies regarding terrorism from most of the international community is continuing to hamper counterterrorism efforts domestically and abroad.

The Non-Political Make the Best Politicians
Like all career options, a career in politics, too, has its own particular requirements. Cunningness, meanness, trickery and treachery are some of the unholy elements that the holiness of a political god is generally supposed to be composed of. Most of our youngsters find themselves quite incapable of inculcating these, for, obviously, it would take a lifetime of unlearning whatever little they absentmindedly picked up in their moral science classes.

Expect More from Your Government

Iraq: The Consequences of Withdrawal
Withdrawing prematurely from Iraq would embolden the jihadists who have flocked to Iraq to fight the United States, weaken the current Iraqi government to the point of collapse, and pave the way for Iran to dominate the Middle East. Despite calls for a massive pullout, American troops must stay until the Iraqi government can stand on its own.

700-mile Great Wall of Mexico may not work?
This Great Wall of Mexico, which is being built leaves lots of questions. One is how will we prevent anyone from digging under it? Why do I make such a statement? Well, we know the coyotes and drug runners from Mexico are diggers and they have dug half a mile tunnels under the border before in many places. How can we prevent this circumventing of our customized wall?

Shock And Confuse
Mark Foley is a name on the lips of many these days; mine included. It's amazing actually. Conservative, Republicans, Liberals and Democrats are all appalled. This is the sort of unity that does not happen all that often on Capitol Hill and from sea to shining sea across the fruited plain. The problem is that while all sides are outraged and united in their outrage, they are outraged for different reasons.
