What the Democrats Don't Understand About the War on Terror

By criticizing President Bush for diverting military manpower from the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, and by repeatedly calling for the rapid withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, Democrats demonstrate with remarkable clarity that they just don't understand the purpose of the war or the battlegrounds upon which it is being fought.

Cut the Macaca about George Allen

I can understand someone being against Allen for a variety of reasons, including his lock-step support of the White House on the War in Iraq. But I wonder about voters who would otherwise vote for Allen, but have decided to vote against him because of this one indiscretion.

Mid-East Conflict Started In A Tent

Is the Middle East conflict just a family squabble?

The Suitability of Government

Men should be governed in a manner which suits them.

Eminent Domain, Needed Infrastructure and Emotional Reality Checks

Occasionally, in our civilization it becomes necessary to use eminent domain as a tool to insure that we provide the much needed infrastructures so our nation and our cities can grow. Of course what always gets into the way is someone who for emotional reasons is so attached to the property that they block the project in the courts and challenge the Eminent Domain Rulings, but in doing so they hurt the forward progression of our civilization.

The Bush Magical Mystery Political Capital Tour

The Bush War Cabinet has been on a campaign to convince Americans that all they have done for 5 years is to protect the people against terrorism. Now they are invoking the memory of 9/11 to justify actions that are nothing short of detriminetal to fundamental human and constitutional rights.

Weapons of Mass Instruction Found!

The America of tomorrow won't be American at all if the war of the worlds and words is waged on the battlesfields of the public mind. Effects of mass media are more real today than in 1984! The greatest attack on the American way of life has been declared by the Patriot Act, mass media and corporate power.

Blacks on Senator George Allen's Football Team, Often Made Racial Slurs About Whites

Apparently Senator George Allen went to school at a place where there was somewhat of a racial divide and many of the blacks constantly made white racial slurs and Senator George Allen had to deal with this. Indeed it appears the problem was quite serious at times and many of the blacks had formed gangs and it was well known both on and off the field.

Great Britain Welcomes asylums

Every year hundreds of thousands of people come to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland seeking a refuge or asylum having sincere hopes that in the new country they will find a better and more prosperous life with a more reliable social system, more stable economy, and nice and friendly immigration system with benefits to newcomers as Britain has been welcoming new immigrants and asylums for years. Great Britain is among well-developed countries that host immigrant from all over the world, but the immigration policy has been changing over the years and it seems that it got stricter as it turned out that many people just use the benefits the government provides and ignore the law and requirements.

America and Britain Aim To Revive Global Trade Talks

Chancellor Gordon Brown teamed up with the current US Secretary of Treasury, Henry Paulson, last weekend to perform their last endeavor in reviving the stalled global trade mediation. Brown said that saving the postponed global trade conference was possible after his meeting with his US partner in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) meeting, which is held in Singapore.

Quest for Democracy in Ethiopia

Hundreds of political prisoners in Ethiopia like Professor Mesfin, a 76-year- senior member of the opposition party and founding member of the Ethiopian Human Rights Council (EHRCO), are in detention in connection with the opposition demonstration following the May 2005 election. Professor Mesfin’s daughter, Dr. Meqdes, and many others believe that promotion of democracy in Ethiopia has been limited and weakened by U.S. security interests in the Horn of Africa. Ethiopians hope that the U.S. Administration will reconsider its policies and get tough on the authoritarian Government of Ethiopia. Many Ethiopians strongly believes that failure to act timely may lead to a growing support for the rise of radical elements and risk constant instability in a country that is vital to U.S. strategic interest in the region. Ethiopia was feted to be one of the emerging democratic countries, but the handling of the election results was found not to meet the international standards. It was a setback to democracy. A year later, comprehensive bi-partisan bill, H.R. 5680, the Ethiopia Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights Advancement Act of 2006 sponsored by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Rep. Donald Payne (D-NJ), unanimously passed the International Relations Committee and was forwarded to the full House. The bill is intended to contribute to the development of a political environment that will actively seek the institutionalization of human rights, the rule of law and democracy in Ethiopia. The bill is expected to be brought to the floor in the coming days.

The Non-Political Make the Best Politicians

Like all career options, a career in politics, too, has its own particular requirements. Cunningness, meanness, trickery and treachery are some of the unholy elements that the holiness of a political god is generally supposed to be composed of. Most of our youngsters find themselves quite incapable of inculcating these, for, obviously, it would take a lifetime of unlearning whatever little they absentmindedly picked up in their moral science classes.

The US and Its Selective Tolerance

One is tolerant so long as it serves one's purpose or is forced to be by law, convention, tradition or custom. Tolerance, therefore, is case sensitive, and liberalism just a political tool.

Transparency and Accountability in Government can Produce Quantifiable Results

When we have transparency in Government we can see which programs work and which do not. Those that do not must be cut, as they are a waste of panty space or to put it politically correctly; a waste of Taxpayers money in the non-ending Blob of Bureaucracy.

Expect More from Your Government

Did you know that the United States government has now a new web site, which deals with the issue that every American wants to have addressed? Americans have clearly spoken and the American people have made it known that they expect more from their government. And so the government has responded with ExpectMore.gov and this new web site was announced by President Bush and his administration.
